A SMILE AND A TEAR, by STEPHEN FRANCIS PRAISNER First Line: It takes a smile to pull you through Last Line: No more to shed a tear? Subject(s): Wishes | |||
It takes a smile to pull you through No matter how things be, It takes a heart so kind and true To make you feel quite free. A teardrop shows your joy has gone To destination unaware; For when once more there comes the dawn It's all a new affair. It takes a smile and a tear To make your way through life; Good and bad must soon come clear Despite one's awful strife. Oh, wish that we could but smile Each day of every year, Wouldn't it be worth the while No more to shed a tear? | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...O TO BE A DRAGON by MARIANNE MOORE FOUNTAIN IN AVIGNON by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR THE HOUR BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF: 1.
