Within the centre of the rose
Seed out of the silence grows

Its crimson heart the night enfolds
The atom's void, the source of worlds

From whose unfathomed chaos rise
Star and leviathan from interior skies.

Here build a house where love may come
From the ends of darkness home,

Here the virgin waits alone
For her lover, for her son,

Here the mother wraps her child
In warm dress of flesh and blood

Pitying love's nakedness,
Love, the child of the abyss.
