PSYCHE AND THE GOD, by KATHLEEN JESSIE RAINE Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: Who is with me? Last Line: And at the centre, love revealed. Subject(s): Flowers; Love; Religion; Theology | ||||||||
Who is with me? I whom you know. I know no man I am none you have seen. How can this be? You are the flower on my tree, And I the forest hidden in the flower, I am the power That to dust gives sight, I am the light That casts the shadow of the world, And in that shadow you are veiled In my darkness sevenfold. You are the child, The bride and mother of a mystery, Yet you shall know Who I am that lies in you, Whose the arms wherein you lie. Then let the hidden will of love Descend upon me like a dove And my seven veils of night Become a sevenfold rainbow bright, And each beam of love shall raise A spirit that shall sing love's praise, A heart to beat for love's delight, The petals of an opening world, And at the centre, love revealed. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY A MESSAGE TO MICHAEL by KATHLEEN JESSIE RAINE |
