DREAM FANTASY, by THOMAS BRUCE REESE First Line: My sleep / follows Last Line: That a sweet dream can never quite return. Subject(s): Dreams; Nightmares | ||||||||
My sleep follows the mystic deep, hazel hollows of the night in a silver bark -- Occidental light, Oriental dark . . . when it bounds away I am left only to sigh for it, -- hoping that the awakening day may offer even a sleepy reply. And when the sun begins to prowl, I learn that a sweet dream can never quite return. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VARIATIONS: 14 by CONRAD AIKEN VARIATIONS: 18 by CONRAD AIKEN LIVE IT THROUGH by DAVID IGNATOW A DREAM OF GAMES by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE DREAM OF WAKING by RANDALL JARRELL APOLOGY FOR BAD DREAMS by ROBINSON JEFFERS |
