THE VOICE OF TRIUMPH, by NELLIE BALDWIN RUDSER First Line: What matter if the way be walked with anguish Last Line: Some learn that pain and waiting may be best. Subject(s): Perseverance | ||||||||
What matter if the way be walked with anguish; What matter that the ease be lost for long: The vision must be greater than the dreamer, The singer must be shadowed by the song! Then seek to teach each child... prosaic raisins Hung on bronzed vines as violet-velvet grapes; And that the twilight veil that hides the sunset Is but the folds of immemorial drapes; That dawn will always come, here or eternal, As surely as the star flames in the west, Because a cross became the triumph-symbol! Some learn that pain and waiting may be best. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AT THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART by EDWARD FIELD DON'T FRET NOW by SIMON J.
