QUERY, by
First Line: What shall our hearts
Last Line: In dreamless sleep.
Subject(s): Hearts; Sleep

What shall our hearts
Unearth to keep
As dear, as delicate
As Sleep?

What shall we find
On wakeful ways
To move our hearts
To instant praise,

Life Sleep
In whose profound embrace
We look on rapture
Face to face?

Seek though you may,
You shall not find
On the broad hilltops
Of the mind,

Nor on uncharted
Sky and sea
Such measure of
Serenity

As hearts
Too diffident to weep
Have briefly found
In dreamless sleep.
