It snows and it blows, it is cold, stormy weather, While Lonnie and Papa are sitting together; Sitting and singing a sweet little song Lonnie and Papa the whole day long. There are the towers on Parliament Hill, There is the river that runs by the mill, There are the houses all covered with snow, And there is the roadway that leads down below. For it snows, etc. There is the battery Papa has made, There is the field where his soldiers parade, There are the flagstaff and old magazine The prettiest place that ever was seen. For it snows, etc. There is the path by the rock to the spring, There are the trees where the wild birds sing, There are the mountains misty and high, And over them all is the beautiful sky. For it snows, etc. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LOOKING EAST IN THE WINTER by JOHN HOLLANDER WINTER DISTANCES by FANNY HOWE WINTER FORECAST by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN AT WINTER'S EDGE by JUDY JORDAN |
