Lonesome, dear Lord, how can I ever be When Thou, O Christ, dost sup with me? Before me is a table spread, Where I may feast on living bread As Israel's hosts, from day to day, Were fed with manna in the way. God's Word for me is living bread Sent down from heaven. When He said, "I am that bread of life," so He The Word of God must truly be.
