LIVING BREAD, by
First Line: Lonesome, dear lord, how can I ever be
Last Line: Through christ revealed by sacrifice.
Subject(s): Jesus Christ

Lonesome, dear Lord, how can I ever be
When Thou, O Christ, dost sup with me?
Before me is a table spread,
Where I may feast on living bread
As Israel's hosts, from day to day,
Were fed with manna in the way.
God's Word for me is living bread
Sent down from heaven. When He said,
"I am that bread of life," so He
The Word of God must truly be.
Herein the gospel mystery lies,
Through Christ revealed by sacrifice.
