The flowers that grew in Shakespeare's garden lift
In poems made by him. There, gleaming tall,
His fragrant lilies prove a poignant call.
Then purple winds of music clearly drift
On pansy-leaf, a lute without a rift;
Narcissi white or yellow mark the wall
Of Canterbury-bell ... Aromas fall
From rhythmic petals, his own ample gift.

He loved the gentle flowers that breezes fan
By Stratford river ... How my dreams unfold
Eternal fame, for they have met along
A garden path. There Will with eager Ann
Adored the spicy pink and marigold
That live within his tender magic song!
