EARLY SPRING, by DOROTHY KINSEY SHISLER First Line: More like autumn this day seems Last Line: Of hospitable spring. Subject(s): Autumn; Nature; Seasons; Spring; Sun; Fall | ||||||||
More like autumn this day seems, than lively nascent spring. Faded yellow-gray-green, limitless lonely acres extend to the colorless horizon. Gray spiky tree-silhouettes posture against the watery pale blue sky. But the sunshine, though still dilute with white winter's chill, has a friendly welcoming warmth of hospitable spring. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...OUR AUTUMN by ELIZABETH AKERS ALLEN AN AUTUMN JOY by GEORGE ARNOLD A LEAF FALLS by MARION LOUISE BLISS THE FARMER'S BOY: AUTUMN by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A LETTER IN OCTOBER by TED KOOSER AUTUMN EVENING by DAVID LEHMAN EVERYTHING THAT ACTS IS ACTUAL by DENISE LEVERTOV |
