FOR SOME ... FOR ME, by
First Line: For some the scintillating brightness of the city streets
Last Line: Sentinels of the deep, yet tell-tale night.
Subject(s): Likes And Dislikes

For some the scintillating brightness of the city streets,
The pulse of human life, that ebbs and flows;
Excitement, love, the feverish rush for joy --
A lethe, to obliterate grim woes.

For me the dusky quiet of a country road,
With palpitating darkness close around;
The whirr of sleepy thrushes winging home,
the feel of velvet dust upon the ground.

For me a lonesome road that leads up distant hills,
Where moonbeams bathe the path in pools of light,
Where lacy-foliaged trees stand spectre-like,
Sentinels of the deep, yet tell-tale night.
