A MAN'S PRAYER, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: I do not crave that deathless fame
Last Line: "too wondrous to be true!"
Subject(s): Love

I DO not crave that deathless fame
That is the valiant soldier's part;
I only wish to write my name
Within a woman's heart;

To make my love so perfect seem
The world shall say, my glad days through,
"That life he lived -- it was a dream
Too wondrous to be true!"
