A HEAVENLY FRIEND, by

Last Line: If with our soul 'tis well.

A loving friend is Jesus,
Kindhearted, loyal, and true--
A friend who is always near us
To help and bring us through.

A loving friend is Jesus,
A comforter and guide--
One who will never leave us,
Who is walking by our side.

A loving friend is Jesus,
Our salvation He has bought,
He hears our supplications,
Helps us to live as we ought.

A loving friend is Jesus,
Though often our love is weak,
He understands and pardons
When we forgiveness seek.

A loving friend is Jesus,
He's faithful to the end,
And by consistent living
His cause we can defend.

A loving friend is Jesus,
For, one day, we shall dwell
With Him and with the angels,
If with our soul 'tis well.
