A REDBIRD SINGING, by LEOTA BANISTER WARD First Line: A redbird caroled late today Last Line: His melody to you. Subject(s): Singing & Singers | ||||||||
A redbird caroled late today, And though his form was veiled By shrouding leaf and waving spray Of my tall poplar tree, Each rounded golden note assailed My soul with rhapsody. He trilled the language of the sky Till heaven's western gate Like to the scarlet singer grew, And I, transcribing, dedicate His melody to you. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY |
