GRAVEN ON THE PALMS OF HIS HANDS, by CHARLES WESLEY Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: Jesus, the lamb of god, hath bled Last Line: Jesus, thou canst not pray in vain. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
Jesus, the Lamb of God, hath bled; He bore our sins upon the tree; Beneath our curse He bow'd His head;-- 'Tis finish'd! He hath died for me. See, where before the throne He stands, And pours the all-prevailing prayer; Points to His side, and lifts His hands, And shows that I am graven there. He ever lives for me to pray; He prays that I with Him may reign. Amen to what my Lord doth say; Jesus, Thou canst not pray in vain. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
