THE CONQUERING LOVE OF JESUS, by CHARLES WESLEY Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: O that I could my lord receive Last Line: By thy victorious love. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
O that I could my Lord receive, Who died the world to redeem; Who gave His life that I might live A life conceal'd in Him. O that I could the blessing prove-- My heart's extreme desire; Live happy in my Saviour's love, And in His arms expire. Mercy I ask to seal my peace, That, kept by mercy's power, I may from every evil cease, And never grieve Thee more. Now, if Thy gracious will it be, E'en now my sins remove, And set my soul at liberty By Thy victorious love. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
