First Line: I like to see the sky at dawn
Last Line: I guess it's -- just because.
Alternate Author Name(s): Hartley, Loretta P. W.
Subject(s): Contentment

I like to see the sky at dawn,
A rose burst into bloom;
A tree when all its leaves are green,
Soft shadowing my room.

I like to see a lake with sail boats
Bent to meet the breeze;
And schools of little fishes
Playing hooky, if you please.

I like to see a baby smile,
A kitten wash its paws;
The whys and wherefores? I don't know,
I guess it's -- just because.
