First Line: In billowy bloom the apple trees wave
Last Line: Do your tears fall, my pretty one?
Subject(s): Tears

In billowy bloom the apple trees wave
Along the April sky,
Where white clouds toss in the joyous wind
Like pirate ships at play.
In the emerald grass the violets
A royal carpet have spread,
And over the hedge the lilacs nod
Their plumy, perfumed heads.

Oh, why in this world of warmth and sun
Do your tears fall, my pretty one?
