OTHER SPRINGS, by RACHEL LUMPKIN WYLY First Line: All day I've been remembering other springs Last Line: I thanked the day for being kind to me. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
All day I've been remembering other springs, I caught the drifting fragrance from the face Of early dawn, and half forgotten things Like blue-bells, clustered near a flowing race, And glimmering violets peeping out at me From hidden corners through a mossy fence, Awakened memories and I could see The past reviewed in quiet eloquence. As I watched the glow of other springs unfold There passed before me meadows carpeted With tender grass, and dandelions of gold; And spicy mint by pools -- an emerald bed Of water-cress. So rich a pageantry I thanked the day for being kind to me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
