WHEN SHALL WE ALL MEET AGAIN?, by ANONYMOUS Last Line: There shall we all meet again Subject(s): Grief; Sorrow;sadness | ||||||||
WHEN shall we all meet again? When shall we all meet again? Oft shall glowing hope expire, Oft shall wearied love retire, Oft shall death and sorrow reign, Ere we all shall meet again. Though in distant lands we sigh, Parched beneath a hostile sky; Though the deep between us rolls, Friendship shall unite our souls. Still in Fancy's rich domain Oft shall we all meet again. When the dreams of life are fled, When its wasted lamps are dead; When in cold oblivion's shade, Beauty, power, and fame are laid; Where immortal spirits reign, There shall we all meet again. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SONOMA FIRE by JANE HIRSHFIELD AS THE SPARKS FLY UPWARDS by JOHN HOLLANDER WHAT GREAT GRIEF HAS MADE THE EMPRESS MUTE by JUNE JORDAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 19 by JAMES JOYCE DIRGE AT THE END OF THE WOODS by LEONIE ADAMS TIS A LITTLE JOURNEY by ANONYMOUS |
