LIGHT OF THE SOUL, by ANONYMOUS First Line: "light of the soul, o saviour blest" Last Line: "all glory with the father be, / and holy ghost, eternally" Subject(s): Jesus Christ | |||
Light of the soul, O Saviour blest! Soon as Thy presence fills the breast, Darkness and guilt are put to flight, And all is sweetness and delight. Son of the Father! Lord most high! How glad is he who feels Thee nigh! How sweet in heaven Thy beam doth glow, Denied to eye of flesh below! O Light of light celestial! O Charity ineffable! Come in Thy hidden majesty; Fill us with love, fill us with Thee! To Jesus, from the proud concealed, But evermore to babes revealed, All glory with the Father be, And Holy Ghost, eternally! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
