MY MASTER HATH A GARDEN, by ANONYMOUS First Line: "my master hath a garden, full-filled with divers flowers" Last Line: And the gentle sounding flute Subject(s): Flutes;gardens & Gardening | ||||||||
My master hath a garden, full-filled with divers flowers, Where thou mayst gather posies gay, all times and hours, Here nought is heard But paradise-bird, Harp, dulcimer, and lute, With cymbal, And timbrel, And the gentle sounding flute. Oh! Jesus, Lord, my heal and weal, my bliss complete, Make thou my heart thy garden-plot, true, fair and neat That I may hear This music clear, Harp, dulcimer, and lute, With cymbal, And timbrel, And the gentle sounding flute. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...NOVEMBER GARDEN: AN ELEGY by ANDREW HUDGINS AN ENGLISH GARDEN IN AUSTRIA (SEEN AFTER DER ROSENKAVALIER) by RANDALL JARRELL ACROSS THE BROWN RIVER by GALWAY KINNELL A DESERTED GARDEN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS NOT THE SWEET CICELY OF GERARDES HERBALL by MARGARET AVISON AN OLD GARDEN by HERBERT BASHFORD TIS A LITTLE JOURNEY by ANONYMOUS |
