In spite of love at length I've found A mistress that can please me, Her humour free and unconfined Both night and day she'll ease me. No jealous thoughts disturb my mind, Though she's enjoyed by all mankind; Then drink and never spare it, 'Tis a bottle of good claret!... But best of all, she has no tongue, Submissive she obeys me, She's fully better old than young, And still so smiling sways me; Her skin is smooth, complection black, And has a most delicious smack; Then kiss and never spare it, 'Tis a bottle of good claret! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO A CIVIL SERVANT by EDMUND JOHN ARMSTRONG WINE by FRIEDRICH MARTIN VON BODENSTEDT THE GOOD FELLOW by ALEXANDER BROME WHEN A WOMAN LOVES A MAN by DAVID LEHMAN JOEY AWAKE NOW by GLYN MAXWELL RAISING A HUMID FLAG by THYLIAS MOSS TIS A LITTLE JOURNEY by ANONYMOUS |
