THIS ONLY DO I KNOW, by ANONYMOUS First Line: I do not know how wide the spaces are Last Line: "atoms, electrons--a kaleidoscope of worlds" Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
I do not know how wide the spaces are; I do not know how far the utmost star; I do not know what worlds or light may be; Or life, or how this ordered frame began. This only do I know: That Christ my soul Fulfills. My aspirations stand complete In Him. He is my destiny, my flower. More easy could I all the worlds deny, And turn the planets into spirit's dream Than doubt my soul and Him, and sink ourselves, Both Christ and me, in some wild swirl of things, Atoms, electrons--a kaleidoscope of worlds. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
