TWO ROADS, by
First Line: There were two roads for me, one a silver ribbon bright
Last Line: Trudge with stubborn purpose -- new hope with each new dawn?

There were two roads for me, one a silver ribbon bright,
Glowing in the daytime, shining in the night.

On this road there traveled millions every day
Seeking pleasant friendships and the easy way.

Paths time-worn and certain, lives sure to be gay;
So why should I, I wonder, go the other way?

Go the way through mountains, tangled brush and wood,
Stand in lonely hollows where but few have stood;

Trudge with feet too weary almost to carry on,
Trudge with stubborn purpose -- new hope with each new dawn?
