THE TWO MEN, by WILLIAM ARTHUR DUNKERLEY First Line: Two men in me I find Last Line: And leave it all to you understand. Alternate Author Name(s): Oxenham, John Subject(s): Religion; Theology | ||||||||
Two men in me I find, Of very different mind, -- One strives at times for good, And one, in earthlier mood, With lower things is strangely intertwined. The one is not all ills, The other grace reveals; But yet they are so mixed, My soul doth stand betwixt, And neither one nor other all fulfills. I can but take my stand, And bear a lusty hand, -- This one, my best to aid, And that, to embuscade, And leave it all to You understand. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY A NEW EARTH by WILLIAM ARTHUR DUNKERLEY |
