O, YE OF LITTLE FAITH, by HARRIET GARRETT First Line: It seems our life is made up of regrets Last Line: The darkest night would seem as fairest day! Subject(s): Faith; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
It seems our life is made up of regrets For things we've done and those we've left undone; We stumble on until our pride begets A hope that victory might yet be won! And often in the morn we fain would bring Some joy to saddened hearts that know but pain; Then when the night has come there is the sting That always follows when we fail again. But still we strive and suffer all in vain; Our heartaches and our cares we bear alone, Until forgotten Faith shines through the rain: "God's in His heaven," and He cares for His own! If we would walk with Him along the way, The darkest night would seem as fairest day! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION by MINA LOY |
