A new heart also will I give you,
And a new spirit
Will I put within you.

Men of the dusty land,
From the valley of dry bones,
Men with stretched sinews
And wide-gaping eyes,

Come to my quietness,
Reach to the deeps of me,
Cup in your hard hands
Waters of peace;

Drink to your heart's ease,
Gasp, throw the cup down,
Gasp, throw the cup down,
Fall to my spread knees,
And sleep at my feet.

Men of the dusty land,
Probe to the deeps of me,
Drink to your bitterness
Core of my love.
