Love is life;
Things that follow
Are dusty motes
For the sun to swallow.

Immeasurably full
The golden flood
Eternally bathes
The responsive blood.

Pride weeps
But love stands up
Raising poor pride
In a radiant cup.

Bold and sweet
Straight to the bone
Is the dear heart
Love will keep as his own.
