SYMPATHY, by RUBY ARCHER GRAY First Line: Now I love you, some stronger undertone Last Line: Across each flood ... Love kissed my eyes -- I see! | |||
Now I love you, some stronger undertone Is breathing through all life, not heard before -- My spirit listens, leaning as if it bore The heart of the world. What harmonies have grown Out of the silence from the vast unknown Of joy and pain vibrating evermore. What paeans and what dirges! All that wore The laurel or the thorn, are as my own Dear brothers. Yes, in loving you, I love That world whose heart-beat quivers through my soul. Oh, how I yearn! My hands now eagerly Offer their little strength -- I long to roll The stone from every tomb -- to send my dove Across each flood ... Love kissed my eyes -- I see! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SUMMER JOY by RUBY ARCHER GRAY WELCOME, STURDY TEMPEST! by RUBY ARCHER GRAY THE ANGEL, FR.
