First Line: A sickle moon is shining in my garden
Last Line: And smooth the etchings made by time and grief.
Subject(s): Gardens & Gardening

A sickle moon is shining in my garden,
And creamy ginger sheds a perfume rare.
Some bougainvilleas stain its walls with crimson
And shadow-softened beauty lingers there.

There's moonlight magic in my Island garden,
And dappled paths unwind like silver threads.
A jetting fountain tosses back the moonbeams,
And gargoyles wink, moon halos on their heads.

I wish that you were with me in my garden.
If you were weary, you would find relief
Within its walls where moonbeams seek to soften
And smooth the etchings made by time and grief.
