Why can I seem to write of naught but you?
I find each day replete with new delights,
And there are moments shining down from heights
To touch and thrill a hungry heart anew.
But when I take my eager pen to trace
The intricate pattern of each lovely day,
I find that there is little I can say
That does not find the image of your face
Impressed so deeply on my heart and mind,
That I can but endeavor to express
The fleeting little lights of happiness
Or sadness I find there, and I am blind
To all the beauties of a radiant world
When your bright flag of beauty is unfurled.
