My friend is robbing honey-bees
In golden-meadowed Pleiades.
I cannot offer him a share
Of my so plain and common fare ...
Just bread and cheese!

When apples of Hesperides
No longer load the bending trees
My friend will thank the one who brings
These plain and good substantial things ...
Just bread and cheese!
