Could the Master hand that fashioned thee, O child of light and joyfulness, Weary of a work so soon begun And leave unwrought A life decreed to be? As soon we'd ask of mortal artist why The creature of his inspiration Decays not with the hoary years of time, To droop at last, With temporal things to die.
