LIFE'S STAIRWAY, by                    
First Line: Life is naught but a stairway / for us to go
Last Line: On the road to the pearly gate.

Life is naught but a stairway,
For us to go up or down.
Should those going up be gay
Should the others kick and frown?

It's all in the hands of God,
So, let us keep our faith,
And, hand in hand, onward plod
On the road to the pearly gate.
