ON EASTER MORNING, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: The door between the worlds is open wide
Last Line: So long as love lives in the hearts of men!
Subject(s): Easter; Holidays; The Resurrection

The door between the worlds is open wide
On Easter morning; some time in the night
A Star has touched it with a ray of light
And, at that touch, the stone is rolled aside.
Between the worlds, angelic heralds glide
Out of the darkness, dressed in robes of white
Too dazzling to be seen by mortal sight
Except among the dawn of Eastertide.

But when the Easter dawn is in the sky,
All who have eyes to see may see them then;
All who have ears to hear may hear their cry:
Awake, and greet the risen Christ again,
And know the Lord of Love can never die
So long as Love lives in the hearts of men!
