Yours is the knowledge that leaves you sad,
Knowledge of feet that must wander and stray,
Knowledge of fears all mothers have felt,
Knowledge of tears that Rachel knew,
Yours is a wisdom beyond the wise,
Learned on the road of sacrifice.

Yours to be wounded for our transgressions,
Yours to bring healing to hurt of our hearts,
Yours to chide us out of our folly,
Yours to lead us to wisdom and beauty,
Yours to bind with a love that endures,
The love that redeems,—God's love and yours.
