CHRISTMAS BELLS, by ALICE MORTENSON First Line: Christmas bells are ringing sweetly Last Line: "for he's coming, coming soon!" Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
Christmas bells are ringing sweetly, Far across the frosty night, Echoing beyond the hilltops In their blankets soft and white; Telling of a dear Redeemer, How He came to earth to save Everyone who will accept Him, How He rose up from the grave. How He then went back to heaven, There to make for us a place, That He's coming back in triumph, And we'll see Him face to face. Christmas bells! Oh, hear them ringing! Piercing through the war's deep gloom, Saying, "Give your heart to Jesus, For He's coming, coming soon!" | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
