OH, NO CROSS THAT I MAY CARRY, by ALICE MORTENSON First Line: When I think of things denied me Last Line: Just because he loved me so. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
When I think of things denied me, Leaving sorrow in their stead, It is then I think how Jesus Had no place to lay His head. When the clouds above me gather, Dark the path that I must go, It is then I see my Saviour In the garden, bending low. Should all earthly friends forsake me, Every grief of mine is small, When I see my Saviour standing Mute, condemned, in Pilate's hall. Oh, no cross that I may carry Can be heavy when I know Thay my Saviour bore His gladly Just because He loved me so. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
