LET ME BE AWARE!, by
First Line: This my hope, my plea, my prayer
Last Line: Gentle smiles in friendly faces.
Subject(s): Hearts

This my hope, my plea, my prayer:
Let me ever be aware
Of the shaping of small flowers,
Earth-smells after April showers ...

Twilight-lure ... a black cloud scudding
Past a sharp-etched moon ... frail budding
Of new seedlets in a garden ...
Whispering leaves ... oh, never harden

Hearts like mine to brown birds singing
In the rain ... nor wild geese winging
Joyously across the hollow!
Let my eager footsteps follow

Pathways paved with stars, slow-winding
Onward, upward, seeking, finding
Little joys in quiet places ...
Gentle smiles in friendly faces.
