LET ME BE AWARE!, by MADELEINE MOSCHENROSS First Line: This my hope, my plea, my prayer Last Line: Gentle smiles in friendly faces. Subject(s): Hearts | ||||||||
This my hope, my plea, my prayer: Let me ever be aware Of the shaping of small flowers, Earth-smells after April showers ... Twilight-lure ... a black cloud scudding Past a sharp-etched moon ... frail budding Of new seedlets in a garden ... Whispering leaves ... oh, never harden Hearts like mine to brown birds singing In the rain ... nor wild geese winging Joyously across the hollow! Let my eager footsteps follow Pathways paved with stars, slow-winding Onward, upward, seeking, finding Little joys in quiet places ... Gentle smiles in friendly faces. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...CARDIOLOGICAL by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS NOCTURNE OF REMEMBERED SPRING by CONRAD AIKEN COZY APOLOGIA; FOR FRED by RITA DOVE SUPPLICATION by MADELEINE MOSCHENROSS |
