The dandelion has gone to seed,
Is now an astral crown
Of fluffy, snowy down,
That soon on breezes will be freed.

Within its charm a fairy lives,
As happy as can be,
And all,—yes, all to me
Her soul of joy she gladly gives.

My whole concern is for her care
Within the downy ball,
Since fancy can enthrall
Her daintiness to hold her there.
