THE FIRST ROSARY, by
First Line: Father felipe forgot to pray
Last Line: "his roses, and whispered, ""a miracle."
Subject(s): Rosary

Father Felipe forgot to pray,
All one sunshiny April day.

Into his chamber that night he wore
A necklace of thorns -- oh, they pricked him sore.

As he knelt in a silence of grief and shame
At midnight, a radiant angel came;

She touched the necklace, and every thorn
Sprang into life -- a rose new born.

Next morning, the fathers watched him tell
His roses, and whispered, "A miracle."
