ALTAR LAMP, by AMY MAY ROGERS First Line: Catteron's branch came down through the shadows Last Line: Treading, treading the waters. | |||
Catteron's Branch came down through the shadows, Slipping craftily under the great logs, Foaming around the dark boulders, Shut from the silence by tall trees. Then, from the vibrant dimness, Shone a handful of light ... One white rhododendron ... Luminous-pale as any altar lamp. And, in the flower-lit glade, Time and I, for a long moment, Heard the feet of Eternity Treading, treading the waters. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SONG OF THE SINNER by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON CRITIC AND POET by EMMA LAZARUS THE CATS' MONTH by WILLIAM CARLOS WILLIAMS THE FIRST VOYAGE OF JOHN CABOT [1497] by KATHARINE LEE BATES THE ECHOING GREEN, FR.
