Let me tell you a little story About Miss Edith Gee; She lacked the kind of figure That decorates page 3. She had narrow sloping shoulders And she had no bust at all, But one evening on the common In fear she gave her all. She did not love the stranger, She had to yield to force, And more than her eyes were swollen As nature took its course. She went to Doctor Brady, He rubbed his shaven chin; 'To do the thing you ask me Would be a mortal sin.' And since he thought it sinful To end an unborn life, She ended in a back street Beneath a rusty knife. And now in Hell she suffers For all Eternity; There never was a lady As wicked as Miss Gee. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ENVY OF OTHER PEOPLE'S POEMS by ROBERT HASS THE NINETEENTH CENTURY AS A SONG by ROBERT HASS THE FATALIST: TIME IS FILLED by LYN HEJINIAN OXOTA: A SHORT RUSSIAN NOVEL: CHAPTER 192 by LYN HEJINIAN LET ME TELL YOU WHAT A POEM BRINGS by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA JUNE JOURNALS 6/25/88 by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA FOLLOW ROZEWICZ by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA HAVING INTENDED TO MERELY PICK ON AN OIL COMPANY, THE POEM GOES AWRY by HICOK.
