THE KING OF KINGS, by LON WOODRUM First Line: The prancing mounts and twinkling wheels Last Line: He sits upon the throne of hearts! Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
The prancing mounts and twinkling wheels And plumes of great men passed Him by. He ate the food of common men, His canopy was but the sky. He mixed with fishermen and slaves; He sat with sinners on the road; He patted little children on the head-- He talked of greatness and of God! He walked where kings would never walk, On fishing wharves, in common marts-- His kingdom shadows every king-- He sits upon the throne of hearts! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
