THAT I COULD KNOW, by RUBY MARION WRAY First Line: Would the poets dream that I could know Last Line: When these are mine, I'll know the poet's dreams. Subject(s): Faith; Poetry & Poets; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
Would the poets dream that I could know His eye for beauty and his love so great, And soaring high above my selfish self, Hear the birdling calling to his mate? Ignoring things, useless material That irritate and invite hatred's sting; To see the sunshine when the storm beats wild And on its fierce winds hear the angels sing. To see in he who's humble and uncouth, Light that far beneath the surface beams, Revealing there a sould worthy, God's love. When these are mine, I'll know the poet's dreams. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION by MINA LOY LOVELY NIGHT by RUBY MARION WRAY |
