WHEN I ASSUME THAT GOD MAY BE, by LEANDER M. ZIMMERMAN Last Line: For I see god in jesus' face. Subject(s): Faith; God; Presence; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
When I assume that God may be -- Trusting where I cannot see, His love then helps my soul to sing A song of praise to Christ, my King. When I assume that God may be -- My heart makes room, O God, for Thee, For faith so fills this cup of mine, It changeth water into wine. When I assume that God may be -- Then lo, as Friend, my God finds me! O loving God, my Father dear, My dearest friend in heaven and here! And I assume that God may be -- Because that truth in Christ I see, Assumption now to faith gives place, For I see God in Jesus' face. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION by MINA LOY GETHSEMANE by LEANDER M.
