PSALM 60, by
First Line: O god, who angry leftst us in the field
Last Line: Shall lick the deadly dust.

O God, who angry leftst us in the field
Repuls'd, disorderd, scattred, slain
Again to us be reconcil'd
O be our guide again
The very Earth Thou madest with trembling quake
With chinks and chaps it gaping lay
O sound again her ruptures make
Stay her in former stay
What most displeasing any heart could think
Displeasd Thou didst Thy people show
Dull horror drank they as a drink
That makes men giddy grow
But now again Thou hast an ensign spredd
To cheere Thy last dismayed band
Which by Thy truths conduction ledd
In stout array shall stand
March on O God, set Thy beloved free
Be deafe no more to what we pray
Hark, hark, I heare so shall it be
God from his Temple say!
March then no further make a merry stand
Here will I part out Sichems feilds
By perch and pole I'll meate the land
That Succoths vally yeilds
Mine Gilead Manasse also mine
Ephraim yeilds me men for warr
Judah shall right by law define
When strife breeds doubtfull Jarr
Moab shall wash my feet in servile place
At Edom I my shoe will fling
Thou Palestine (O alterd case)
Shall of my triumph sing
But who shall bring us to the walled town
But who shall cause us Edom take
Who but the God, that threw us down
And did our hosts forsake
Long long we thus in servitude have layne
Come heavnly God O come at length
And ridd us out for vain most vain
Is help of human strength.
Then Victory shall us with glory crowne
When not in men, in God we trust
And then our foes by him cast down
Shall lick the deadly dust.
