OH HEART BE GLAD, by
First Line: Oh heart, be glad, be strong as one who knows
Last Line: Oh heart be glad!
Subject(s): Beauty; Evening; Hearts; June; Sunset; Twilight

Oh heart, be glad, be strong as one who knows
That beauty will outlive each lovely June,
And fragile petals never fall too soon.
When sunset's red and amber fade, then shows
The silver sheen of moonlight on each rose.
Throughout each droning sunny afternoon
The grain grows ripe before the harvest moon.
Through changing seasons beauty never goes --
Oh heart, be glad!

Oh heart, be glad, for time can never mar
The beauty that is caught in sudden flight
And held a captive through the darkest night;
A beauty bringing splendor from afar,
And coming swiftly like a falling star --
Oh heart be glad!
