This quiet Persian seated at her loom
With patterned beauty at her fingertips
Has lost the freshness of her early bloom
And stilled the longing of her eager lips.

With patterned beauty at her fingertips
She sees a Master-plan take shape and grow;
Between her flying hands the shuttle slips,
Responsively the vibrant colors glow.

She sees a Master-plan take shape and grow...
A pattern traced upon no formal chart;
Only the worker and the Master know
The figures graven on a weaver's heart!

A pattern traced upon no formal chart...
But day by day remembered, slowly laid
Across a timeless warp... a living part
Of a predestined blend of light and shade.

Long day by day remembered, slowly laid
In rich mosaic. The weaver is resigned
That life become this perfect thing she made,
Her twisted hands lie still... she has grown blind!

You see exquisite beauty in my room?
I see a quiet Persion at a loom.
